The process

  1. Plan ahead. The more time you give us, the better we can meet your needs. We ask that you submit requests at least 1 month in advance and no more than 2 months in advance. Requests are reviewed weekly, during regular business hours, excluding breaks and holidays.
  2. Use our request form to request an interactive workshop, training, panel, or tabling for your organization, class, or group. We prioritize requests from groups that require attendance or where individuals are incentivized to attend. If we can't meet your request, we'll provide a consultation about alternate tools and resources to meet your needs.
  3. Please allow a few days for a response. When we receive your request, we forward it to the most appropriate staff member, who will email you to discuss options. This interaction is key to a successful event. To ensure you don't miss our response, please check your spam or junk folder.

Workshop descriptions & learning outcomes

Stress less [intended for self-facilitation]

As part of our commitment to becoming a health-promoting university, we’re empowering colleagues across campus to confidently engage in conversations around mental health and wellness within their communities.

This session invites participants to explore how stress impacts all eight dimensions of wellness and helps them distinguish between eustress and distress. Participants will reflect on their own stressors, learn about and discuss practical short-term stress relief techniques, and become familiar with campus resources and services available for ongoing support.

The self-facilitation guide comes complete with talking points, videos, facilitation tips, and supplemental materials to support a smooth and engaging experience. We’re also available for consultation if you’d like help tailoring the session to your audience or would prefer to co-facilitate.

Alcohol and other drugs

This workshop explores students’ relationship with alcohol and other drugs by examining their values, their “why” behind substance use, and the extent to which their behavior aligns with their values, goals, and well-being.

Participants will develop strategies for less risky substance use that promote holistic well-being. Participants will also reflect on the dominant narratives surrounding substance use that they’re exposed to and be challenged to explore ways of connecting that are more inclusive of the true continuum of experiences that exist on campus.

All workshops are tailored to the specific needs and lived experiences (including the specific substances covered in the workshop) of the group requesting the workshop. We can also provide opportunities for social gatherings and connections that do not involve alcohol and other drugs.

Eating and body image issues

This workshop provides an overview of topics related to eating and body image, tailored to meet the specific needs and concerns of your group, creating a supportive and relevant experience for participants.

Failure and success lab

Through this interactive activity, participants will become familiar with the concept of perfectionism, learning to distinguish between adaptive and maladaptive forms. They will gain an understanding of the underlying causes of perfectionism, the procrastination-perfectionism cycle, and the interplay with impostorism.

Additionally, participants will recognize the importance of balance to achieve their own definition of success in college. They will also learn about resources available for continued support in caring for their well-being and managing perfectionism.

Intersectionality of well-being, identity, and equity

Participants will delve into the origins of intersectionality, distinguishing it from the concept of intersecting identities. This workshop will address the role of identity and privilege and how it relates to wellness, as well as discuss practical strategies for fostering an inclusive environment that promotes well-being.

Mindfulness for wellness

Mindfulness has been recognized as a powerful tool for enhanced well-being. Mindfulness techniques are effective in coping with stress and anxiety, as well as in improving overall quality of life. This is especially important for individuals in a competitive, busy, and stressful academic setting. In this workshop, you will learn basic principles of mindfulness and practice various ways of being in the present moment.

Recovery ally training

A 1.5-hour Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) Recovery Ally Training will help you learn how to support people in recovery from substance use disorders. Learn about things like reducing stigma, having supportive conversations, and connecting people to relevant resources.

Well-being pop-up

We’ve collected data from students showing that they seek out informal, low-barrier spaces that support their well-being, build community, and reduce stress. The Well-Being Pop-Up is a flexible, co-created offering designed to meet the unique needs of your student community, and Wolverine Wellness will work with you to co-plan the experience.

Pop-Ups can include guided activities, mindfulness practices, peer connection opportunities, resource sharing, or simply a calm environment to unwind. Together, we’ll design a space that resonates with your group and encourages sustainable well-being in ways that feel authentic and inclusive.
